“Rice” as Nickname of Famous Honorable Venerable: A Specific Culture in Khmer Cultural Based Area, South Northeastern Region of Thailand

Abstract

Buddhist monk is the main practitioner in Buddhism. There are many famous Buddhist monks, venerables, around the world. In Indochina, Buddhism is a min religion. There are many monasteries with famous venerables. Here, the authors present and discuss on using “rice” as nickname of famous honorable venerable: a specific culture in Khmer cultural based area, south northeastern region of Thailand.
